Adedotun Adekile

Qualifications:

Mr. Adekile has a BSc. degree in Geology from University of Sierra Leone and an M.Sc. degree in Water and Environmental Management, from Loughborough University. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society, London, United Kingdom and has forty years post graduate experience in the water and sanitation sector in Nigeria and other countries in Africa.  

 

Most Recent Experience and Consultancies

He is a hydrogeologist and has been involved in the design and supervision of the construction of urban and rural water supply schemes, as well as providing advisory services to governments and development agencies. He has published several field notes and papers on drilling supervision, procurement and cost-effective borehole drilling. He has been involved in the assessment of capacity development needs of WASH institutions and providing training of WASH personnel within Nigeria and internationally.

 

Consultant Water and Natural Resources: Department for International Development (DFID) UK Supported Future Cities Project Abeokuta Master Plan and Urban Renewal Guidelines.

Procurement Specialist: Post procurement review of the African Development Bank Projects in Zim­babwe, Zambia and Ethiopia

Hydro-geological Consultant: German International Development Agency supported Strengthening Resilience in North East Nigeria, Groundwater Development Projects. Client (GIZ)

Hydrogeology Specialist: Nigeria Lake Chad Basin Projects (NLCB) responsible for desk review of existing documentation, scopes of work and environmental monitoring of water point projects, specifically borehole drilling and photovoltaic pumping systems; on-site review of ongoing and completed solar-powered and free-flowing borehole projects; and training and capacity building for NLCB team members. Donor Relations

Mr Dotun Adekile has extensive knowledge of the WASH sector which has been employed in the evaluation and moni­toring and quality assurance validation of several WASH projects. He has worked on projects funded by the African Development Bank, DFID, EU, JICA, United Nations agencies, US­AID, World Bank. He has also worked with INGOs, such as Action Against Hunger, Creative International Associates, International Rescue Committee, Oxfam, Peace Winds, PLAN International, and TEARFund.
