Ms. Aisha Rejoice Bakpet

Associate Director of Community Mobilisation and Hygiene

Qualifications:

Ms. Aisha Bakpet has a Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health Services from the College of Health Technology in Zawan Jos and a PGD in Public Health. She is a WASH Specialist with expertise in community mobilization and hygiene, project management, contracts management, and data management. She facilitated the community mobilization hygiene promotion of the recent response to Covid-19 by WASHMATA Initiatives in an urban slum and orphanage in Abuja, Nigeria; ensuring women involvement and targeting the most vulnerable as beneficiaries from the project.

Most Recent Experience and Consultancies

She is currently the Head of Sanitation of FCT Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA). She was the Head of Sanitation Department, Public Health of the FCT UNICEF supported WASH Project from 2006 to 2010 and in that capacity, coordinated government and donor community sanitation interventions for the six LGAs small towns and communities comprising the FCT. She is the Desk-officer for Clean Nigeria, Use the Toilet campaign.

Donor Relations

 She is a  WASH Consultant for UNICEF WASH programmes for the past 8 years and is very familiar with the political, economic, social, and cultural context particularly in Northern Nigeria having worked with stakeholders in Kaduna, Zamfara, Benue, Sokoto, Katsina, Yobe, Katsina and Kaduna states to implement LGA WASH activities in small towns and communities. She is currently the WASH Program officer of World Bank’s project on Saving One Million Lives-Performance for Result (SOML-PforR)
